left handed bouquet

one week since shoulder surgery. I can take a full shower tomorrow!
No more paperwhites...they all croked while I was trying to get up the energy to draw.
This is left handed, and will be for a while.turns your brain inside out.

paperwhite 37

The Ides of December. Slightly diminished photo... must be the color of the paper throwing things off.

paperwhite 16

Not quite a throw away, but I had an evening meeting, so didnt get to this until 9pm.
Brought Maria's English Almond/Chocolate Toffee to the meeting. Always a winner. More like the crack cocaine of the home made candy world. What could be wrong with 3 cups of sugar and 6 (yes! SIX) sticks of butter?

paperwhite 3

A bit of pointellism today. It's a long growing season. And it will be interesting to try to wary this paperwhite day by day.

first sign of winter

It may be Halloween (Boo!) but this paperwhite bulb is truly the first sign of winter. Watching them grow; the heavenly aroma... makes winter worthwhile. But not for a while.

Big Guy, sleeping

A picture's worth a thousand words? Maybe a few... Big Guy came home SO tired. Now he's sawing wood with the inevitable NCIS re-run playing. I think he maxxed out of Law and Order and the ever-nasty SVU. Ick... perverts. Give me good ole blood and guts.

10.12.09

I think we have to have rules. Here's one: I do the daily drawing, be it good, bad or ugly. Or in need of work (pencil would have been a better choice) as in this case. And it gets posted. No editorializing.
Finally (I think) got my crutches adjusted. Im kind of in between 5'11" and 6'. Set them to 5'11" and then reset the hand holds. In the interim I think I really mucked up my shoulder. Hurts like bloody hell. And of course it's on the more important side. Ick.
I was up last night thinking about some clergyman guy who took it upon himself to visit me in the hospital (I had specifically requested "no clergy"). He was insulting, intrusive and insensitive. For once I wasnt rude... must have been the drugs. Now Im just hoppin' (if I could hop) mad.

10.09.09

This is my wacko Nepalese purple satin, beaded, mirrored bag. Right now it's my third hand, holding my cell phone, whilst I crutch around. The strap is held on with a safety pin, so it looks like the last stop on the fashion train.

09.16.09

I kind of promised myself that I wouldnt do "throwaway" drawings, just to get it done. And here we are!
Im so tired. This is my folding wheelie laundry cart. Excellent toy. Did all the linens and towels this am and then gave (my own) blood. Very slow drip, drip, drip. Probably would have been better off hydrating like crazy instead of the wash. Whatever.

09.15.09

Ah! The Ides of September.
It's certainly been pointed out to me that I paint/draw A LOT of produce and flowers. Here's a fragment of a park bench on the Esplanade. I was going to "do" a homeless guy sleeping on a bench, but I forgot my pen and had to walk back and get one. Cant be a Lazy Susan. The homeless guy had moved on, but whomsoever occupied this bench before me left two books about talking with God. Passive/aggressive prostelatizing? Yes, I think so.
