Beginning of the Season

Second day on the water, and it was glorious! Of course, I just have to "look" at a boat and my hands get ripped up. But they will callous over and all will be well. Ten miles on the rowing log. And I'm SO happy.

An Escapee from Pansy Planting

This completes my "gardening" chores until the summer change-over. Well, watering, of course. Not exactly heavy lifting.

Pansies

Ha! I've found the way to get the colors that you want... go to the nursery on the coldest, wettest, nastiest day of the spring. The part I love best is the ink color of my (green) pen... "Gangrene Green." You just cant beat that.

A Slice of the Muddy River with a nod to Wolf Kahn

This may turn itself into a painting. I cant wait until the trees green up. Grey paintings have limited appeal.

The Bread of Affliction

Ah! Matzah! tasteless, constipating, with sharp corners that lodge between your cheek and gum. Almost no redeeming qualities, except you're so happy NOT to eat it.
I've forgotten how long these contempletive drawings take.

Faulkner Hospital ER

Ah! Another holiday spent in an emergency room w/ husband. So far, he's covered Labor Day, Memorial Day and now Easter (mercifully, not all in one year). That leaves Christmas, New Years, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving to be really leery about. Fortunately, no biggie. An IV filled w/ an antibiotic and we're out of there.

Hyacinths

These smell so delicious! It's taken a month, but these have provided the requisite inspiration.
