Rowing Mirror

Rowed this am with a mirror. A sop to old age. But it did allow me to line up on the bridges early (just looked a little, to make sure my oars cleared), scanned the bow for oncoming boats and landed better than ever. On the downside, I wound up in an overhanging tree and found myself on the wrong side of the river three times. Could have been a disaster, but it was a quiet day. Bears more practice.

Trader Joe's Peony

I have lots of "favorite flowers," peonies being in the top ten, except if they are covered in little ants.
Great day today: 5 miles on the river. Atul Gawande in "Better" said that we should find things to count. So, starting from just upstream of Northeastern, it is 100 strokes to just short of the Eliot Bridge. Paddled through, crossed and landed, happy.
